Saints Networking Club - 22nd July 2020

Saints Networking Club – 22nd July

St Albans City Football Club is first and foremost a Community Club and we are very keen to share the benefits of our growth and brand with the local St Albans businesses who over many years have been so vital to us in terms of sponsorship, advertising, and active team support on match days.

Following the very successful launch last year of the Saints Networking Club, (SNC) a new platform designed to promote networking and dialogue for our business colleagues in the local community served by the Club and to raise awareness of the growing contribution that we intend to make in the future, we had intended to hold our third meeting at the St Michael’s Manor Hotel but were compelled to postpone the event due to the lockdown restrictions during the prevailing Coronavirus Pandemic.

Until the existing rules allow us to return to a live group gathering, we have decided to resume our Saints Networking Club meetings online and are delighted to invite you to our resurrected FREE third (webinar style) meeting. The event starts at 5.00 pm and is scheduled to finish around 6.00 pm during which time we will, at last, be privileged to hear from our celebrated guest speaker The Right Honourable Lord Tom McNally PC whose close affinity to St Albans City FC and the city itself is so very much valued locally. He calls himself “The Eternal Optimist” and will talk to us on “My Life in Politics and as a Football Supporter” with a short Q & A session afterwards.

Tom’s prominent career in politics has embraced serving as an MP for the Stockport South Constituency, acting as head of PM James Callaghan’s Political Office at Downing Street, fulfilling the role of Deputy Leader of the House of Lords for nearly four years and being Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords for nine years. All this, combined with his passion for and excellent knowledge of football and his strong association with St Albans City FC certainly makes him a popular and attractive guest speaker.

We will also be hearing briefly from Club Manager Ian Allinson, Co-Chairman Lawrence Levy, and Club Secretary Leigh Page with updates on the exciting future plans for the Club, playing staff changes and new opportunities for the community to identify with and participate in the Club at a level of their choice. One such level will be the SACFC Vice-Presidents Club, executive membership of which is seen by the club’s management and Board as vital to the progress of the football club especially now that National League South status has been confirmed for 2020/21.

This event is FREE and so please do register for participation by email at [email protected]. A personal invitation with login details will be sent to you so that we can enjoy each other’s company once again, listen to the very interesting Lord Tom McNally and get behind St Albans City FC in its exciting push for progress.

Really looking forward to seeing you on-line.

Clive Walters – SACFC Club Ambassador
