Having suffered a tight 3-2 defeat against league leaders Wealdstone on Tuesday evening, the Saints travel to bottom of the table side Hungerford with the aim of picking up their second win of the season.
Tuesday’s defeat saw the Saints play well in spells and go into half-time level thanks to Adu’s first goal for the club, but the Stones took control in the second half and they went 3-1 up following goals from Danny Green and Ross Lafayette. City did rally late on and Murrell-Williamson struck in the 88th minute, however it proved to only be a consolation for the hosts.
Saturday’s opponents, like the Saints, have endured a tough start to the new campaign and have only managed to pick up five points from their opening nine games. Their solitary victory came on home soil came against Slough Town a month ago and it was new arrival James Constable who bagged the winner, just four minutes into the clash. The experienced forward joined the Crusaders in the summer and could be a handful for the Saints defence at Bulpit Lane.
However, the Crusaders have struggled since and they suffered another defeat on Wednesday evening away at Havant & Waterlooville. Constable grabbed Hungerford’s only goal of the game as they went down 3-1 against the South Coast side.
Squad News: Ian Allinson could be without defender Joe Howe, who picked up a knock on Tuesday evening. Taylor Miles, however, will be available after he served his one match suspension.
Admission Prices: Adults £12, Concessions £6 (Over 60’s, students), Children under 14 – No charge when accompanied by an adult.
