Ian Allinson’s men return to Clarence Park on Tuesday evening with the aim of picking up their second victory of the season. It will be a tough test, however, as they welcome table topping Wealdstone to Hertfordshire.
City picked up a point on the road away at Slough Town over the weekend and they’ll be hoping to build on an improved second half performance against the Stones. Joe Iaciofano, who scored his fifth goal of the season at Arbour Park, will pick up the Harpenden Construction Player of the Month award for August prior to Tuesday’s game.
Wealdstone have enjoyed an almost perfect start to life under Dean Brennan and Stuart Maynard, winning seven of their first eight games, including six on the bounce going into this meeting.
The Stones extended their lead at the top of the table to five points after an impressive 2-1 win against Maidstone at Grosvenor Vale on Saturday. First half goals from Billy Clifford and Jacob Mendy proved to be enough for Wealdstone, who survived a late onslaught from the visitors to pick up the victory.
The Saints will be without Taylor Miles, who is serving a one match suspension while Scott Shulton may also miss out as he continues his recovery from injury. Ian Allinson could, however, have Solomon Nwabuokei available after his spell on the side-lines with a knock.
Kick-off at Clarence Park is 7:45pm.
