St Albans took the lead in the 38th minute when Shaun Lucien was brought down in the box. Captain David Noble stepped up and placed the spot-kick to the keeper’s right.
However, Poole were level within 3 minutes, again through a penalty. The referee pointed to the spot after a handball by Tariq Moore-Azille. Steve Devlin stepped up and put it in the same corner as Noble had done.
St Albans re-took the lead when Rhsy Murrell-Williamson cut in from the right in the 71st minute and curled a scintillating effort into the bottom corner.
He doubled his tally and secured victory for the hosts in the 89th minute when he cut in again and saw his strike deflect in.
