Saints 1 Margate 1

A wonderful strike from Charlie Walker in the 94th minute resulted in the Saints gaining a well earned point against a battling Margate side on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell behind in less than 2 minutes when former Saint, Michael Thalassitis, was able to get clear of Joe Robinson and shoot past James Russell. The Saints created several chances to drawl level in the first half but found Margate ‘keeper Jon Miles, on loan from Ebbsfleet United, in inspired form as he made crucial saves from Montgomery, Banton and Walker to keep Margate in the game.

The second half saw the Saints continue to press but unable to create the necessary chances to bring them level until Charlie Walker hit a wonderful strike deep into stoppage time to give the Saints an equal share of the points.
