The Saints fell to their 3rd consecutive defeat as they lost 1-0 at home to second bottom Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints had the majority of possession and had chances in the first half to edge ahead. The best chance of the half fell to new signing, Joe Robinson, who crashed a header against the bar. However, the Saints were caught out within seconds of the start of the second half when Ford was allowed too much time and space to race into the Saints box and fire past James Russell. The Saints had plenty of time to get back into the game but failed to open up a resolute Stortford defence. The only time the Saints forced Stortford ‘keeper, Richard Walton, into action was when Shaun Lucien hit a free kick past the wall but Walton leapt to push the shot away.
The Saints are next in action on Saturday 11th Match 2017 when they welcome league leaders, Ebbsfleet United, to Clarence Park. Kick off 3.00pm.
