MANarama’s September assessment

League sponsors Vanarama hope you will get involved as MANarama makes a very big return!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…

A six-game month didn’t quite go as planned but Ian Allinson will be well-aware than if his team can be tougher to score against then they will climb the table and very quickly.

The month’s high point?

The very determined FA Cup replay display at Worthing. Make no mistake, they were ready to create headlines on the south coast but the Saints showed their quality. Now for a big run!

What about the others in September?

Wealdstone are still flying – but Slough were the month’s most impressive side with a 100 per cent record. Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches. The winless sides in September were Dulwich, Oxford City and Eastbourne.

Saints star man?

Attacker Joe Iaciofano is getting better with every game he plays this season.

From the dug-out:

Ian Allinson says individual errors are creeping in again – and that his players are a little too leg-weary. Sharpness needs to be rediscovered.

The red hot strikers right now…

The Golden Boot race is getting interesting and Joe Iaciofano is climbing. Havant hitman Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine, just in front of Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight. Liam Nash of Hemel Hempstead, Billericay goal king Jake Robinson and Jason Prior of Dorking all have seven each.

What does October look like?

It’s an important month. After a possible revenge mission against Weymouth in the FA Cup, two key home games against sides not in form. Eastbourne and Bath City haven’t had good Septembers, then it’s a game at Welling who are in the lower half this season.
