Referee: Lloyd Wood (Romford)
The Saints again demonstrated resilience in defensive areas as they held Hungerford Town to a goalless draw at Bulpit Lane on Saturday afternoon. Both sides had chances to get a win and both James Russell, in the Saints goal, and Lewis Ward, in the Hungerford goal, made some smart saves in the first half to help keep the scores level at half-time.
Hungerford Town started the second half strongly as they tried to take control of the game. However, despite winning several corners, the Saints held firm and some good passing moves saw them release the pressure on the defence and create some good chances. A Charlie Walker header forced Ward into making an excellent save and substitute Sam Merson also saw an effort fly just over the bar. David Noble almost snatched all 3 points in final seconds of injury time as some excellent footwork left a Hungerford defender on the floor but his shot went wide of the far post.
