The Saints fell to a defeat away to Dartford but can take heart from the performance.
Dartford were 1-0 ahead after just 6 minutes when a Richard Sho-Silva long throw was met by the head of captain Elliot Bradbrook. The Saints then suffered the loss of Harold Joseph in the 27th minute. However, the resulting tactical change as Kiangebeni switched to centre back whilst substitute Charlie Walker joined Pinney up front, saw the Saints slowly but surely retake the initiative and start to create chances of their own against a strong Dartford side. The Saints were rewarded in the 40th minute when David Noble passed a corner ball to Charlie Walker who met the ball with a wonderful strike to power the ball into the back of the Dartford net and level the scores.
Dartford nearly regained the lead in the final seconds of the half but Dean Snedker pulled off a fantastic stop as he tipped a header onto the bar.
Dartford started the second half well but the Saints looked to have weathered the storm until a well worked move saw Lyle Della-Verde hit a great cross that was met by Tom Bender who was very unfortunate to see his attempted clearance fly past Snedker into the roof of the net.
The Saints then took the game to Dartford and created several good chances but Dartford’s keeper, Derren Ibrahim, was on great form and made good saves twice from Charlie Walker and also from a Tom Bender header to deny the Saints and equaliser and give Dartford the win and 3 points.
