The Saints succumbed to an injury time winner for the Beach Boys despite a Ben Herd wonder goal pulling his team level in the 90th minute.
Concord Rangers (‘Beach Boys’) started the game brightly and went ahead after 5 minutes when Steve King was left unmarked from a corner and headed home. Dion Sembie-Ferris then extended his side’s lead in the 32nd minute after a counter-attack following a Saints attack left him free to drive the ball past James Russell.
Ian Allinson brought on Shaun Lucien for Lee Chappell at half-time and the Saints started to pressure the Concord defence. In the 69th minute Lucien cut in from the left and fired a powerful low drive past Bailey Vose to bring the Saints back into the game. The Saints were now starting to dominate the game and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Ben Herd volleyed home from distance. However, Sembie-Ferris ended the contest in the 92nd minute when the Saints were caught out by a quick throw in and Sembie-Ferris found space in the Saints penalty area and fired past Russell.
