You may have seen the statement from the FA, released today (Thursday 26th March) that included “NLS steps three to six have reached a consensus that their 2019-20 season will now be brought to an end, and all results will be expunged. This will mean no promotion or relegation of clubs between NLS steps three to six, and no promotion to NLS step two”.
The current position from the National League is it is shut down for now, but it is looking to find ways which could give the possibility of finishing the season.
We are not sure what this means for our club and we are awaiting further clarity from the League. That said, we are currently planning for a number of different scenarios; we believe that the most likely, is to restart and finish this season. This could mean games in July and August of this year, if it is safe to do so, with the 20/21 season starting soon after. We await the answer to a number of questions, further details and guidance from the FA and National League, and we will endeavour to keep you fully update as soon as we have information.
The club, players, staff and management ask all fans to continue to follow government guidelines, to keep yourselves and your families safe.
We all ask you to continue to show your support for the NHS, and helping them to do their valuable, essential and lifesaving work.
Please do stay at home for now, and we all look forward to seeing you back at Clarence Park when we can sing and get behind the team.
