City add promising wingers to ranks ahead of weekend clash

Antonis Vasiliou has today joined the club from Vanarama National League side Barnet. The young winger has signed for Ian Allinson’s men on an initial one month loan period.

The Cypriot midfielder joined the Barnet academy at a young age and went on to make two appearances from the bench for the Bees first team, all of which came in April 2019 before putting pen to paper on his first professional contract last summer.

Saints manager Ian Allinson was delighted to have finally secured the player after coveting the winger for a number of weeks.

“We tried to get Antonis on board some weeks ago but he was still heavily involved in the first team set-up at The Hive. They wanted to keep him especially as they were still involved in the FA Trophy but now they’re in a position to let us take him on board and I’d like to thank everyone at Barnet for helping with this”.

Also arriving in the City is forward Rohdell Gordon who joins us from Walton Casuals. Rohdell started out in League One for Stevenage but left having found first team opportunities limited at the Lamex Stadium. He also had spells in the National League and National League South with Braintree, Bromley and Hemel Hempstead and Royston Town before signing for Casuals. A powerhouse of a forward, Rohdell can play all across the frontline and will provide a dangerous threat to the Saints strike force.

Allinson added “ He’s 23 which is a good age and he obviously knows Chris Winton from his time at Walton so he’s highly regarded. We’ll have to be patient with him to a certain degree but there’s no doubt he has the ability to make an impact in the remaining games we have”.

The good news just keeps on coming as we can announce that Jamie Fielding has extended his loan from Stevenage until the end of the season. Jamie has impressed during the short time here and City will supporters will be delighted that he will continue as a Saint until the end of April.

All three go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game with Maidstone United at Clarence Park.
